Brake Cable – YT921030403

The Yale 921030403 brake cable transmits pedal or lever force to the brake mechanism on Yale lift trucks, fitting the Yale ERC030AF electric counterbalanced truck. The cable is the mechanical link in the brake system: when the operator applies the brake, the cable pulls against the brake actuation and applies the stopping or holding force at the wheel end.

Because it is a moving, load-bearing cable routed through the chassis, it wears where it flexes and where it passes through its housing, and over service life the inner cable frays, the housing binds, or the cable stretches, any of which softens brake response or leaves the brake dragging or slow to release. A brake cable that no longer pulls cleanly changes stopping distance and holding force, which is why it is replaced rather than adjusted once it has worn or stretched past its travel.
