Crown Brake Cam – CR115230

Rotating inside the brake assembly, a Crown brake cam pushes the shoes outward against the drum when the brakes are applied, turning operator input into stopping force. On Crown lift trucks it sits between the actuating linkage and the shoes, so its machined lobe profile sets how far and how evenly the shoes spread on each application.

At roughly one ounce it is a compact hardened component, and because it works against the shoe ends through the full duty cycle, wear on the lobe or the pivot is what changes brake feel and eventually calls for replacement. A cam with a rounded or grooved lobe no longer spreads the shoes fully, so stopping distance grows even with good linings. Fitting a fresh cam returns the geometry the shoes were set up against and brings back consistent, predictable braking.
