Crown Brake Rotor – E-6454

Clamped by the caliper's pads on every stop, a Crown brake rotor is the rotating disc that slows and stops a lift truck at the wheel end, absorbing and shedding the heat each stop generates. At about 9 pounds it is a solid cast piece, mass that gives it the thermal capacity to take repeated braking without fading, exactly what a lift truck's stop-and-go duty cycle demands.

On Crown lift trucks the rotor turns with the wheel while the pads stay fixed, so its faces wear evenly with use and eventually thin, groove, or develop heat checking, the point at which the disc is replaced rather than resurfaced. A worn rotor gives up braking feel and even pad contact, so a fresh disc restores full clamping area and consistent stopping force. When fitting a replacement, match the rotor thickness and mounting to the one coming off, since disc thickness sets pad clearance and proper caliper engagement.
