Raymond Motor Brush Spring Set – SP-643

Four motor brush springs make up this set for Raymond electric drive and pump motors, sold complete as a set of four rather than as individual springs. Each spring maintains the contact pressure that holds a motor's carbon brush firmly against the rotating commutator, and that pressure is the mechanical force behind the electrical contact carrying current from the motor's stationary wiring into its turning shaft. Without adequate spring tension, brush contact turns inconsistent even when the brushes themselves still have usable carbon left.

The set fits Raymond 7400 and 7500 series reach trucks and 4100 and 4200 series Dockstockers, four platforms that share this brush spring specification. Spring tension fades gradually with heat cycling and use, so a motor showing weak or intermittent power while its brushes still measure within wear tolerance is a good reason to check spring tension rather than blaming the brushes alone.

Replace all four springs together rather than one at a time, which keeps contact pressure even across every brush position instead of leaving new springs working against old ones.
