Fiber Bushing – BR-1420

Made from a fiber-based composite rather than metal, this bushing runs quietly at a pivot and can carry its load with little or no added lubrication, which is exactly why a fiber bushing gets specified in place of a bronze or steel one. Pressed into its bore, it acts as the replaceable wear surface between a shaft and its housing, absorbing the friction of a rotating or sliding joint so the surrounding parts do not wear.

The fiber material is also forgiving of light contamination and dampens vibration and noise at the joint, which makes it a good fit for pivots where a metal bushing would run harsh or need constant greasing. Like any bushing it is a designed wear item, replaced once the joint develops play.

Confirm the inner diameter, outer diameter, and length against the bushing being removed, since a press-fit bushing has to match both the shaft and the bore to seat properly and carry load.
