Sized as a load-bearing pivot for the rollers, links, or wheels in a Crown lift truck's lift linkage, this Crown axle carries the rotating or pivoting member while transferring its load into the surrounding structure. It works as the fixed shaft the moving component turns on, taking bending and bearing loads across its journal surfaces every time the linkage articulates under load.

An axle in this position is a hardened wear member. Its journal surfaces bear directly against bushings or bearings, and as those surfaces wear the linkage develops play that accelerates wear in the mating parts. Renewing the axle restores the tight, properly located pivot the linkage was built around.

To confirm the correct replacement, match the axle length and its end diameters to the linkage bore on your Crown truck, since an axle right in one dimension but wrong in another will not seat and locate the assembly correctly.
