Drive Unit – YT580051218R

The remanufactured Yale drive unit is the rebuilt traction drive axle and gearbox that turns the drive wheel on Yale electric lift trucks. It is the reman version of the 580051218 assembly, combining the reduction gearing that steps the drive motor down to wheel speed with the axle that carries the wheel, and it runs the same approximately 17.8 to 1 ratio with a resolver.

As a remanufactured unit it is sold on a core-exchange basis: the worn original is returned and rebuilt with inspected gears and bearings and fresh seals, returning it to working condition at less than the cost of new. Drive units come in for rebuild when their gears, bearings, or seals wear and the truck develops driveline noise, play, or leaks.
