Dampening elements are wear items by nature. The elastomer or cushioning material hardens, cracks, and loses its give over time, and once it does the vibration it was meant to control passes through unchecked, accelerating wear on the parts around it. Renewing the kit restores the cushioning the assembly was designed with.
