Yale Washer – HW-2051

Spreading the clamping load of a bolt or nut across a wider area than the fastener head alone, this washer is built to Yale's specification for use on Yale lift trucks. By distributing that load, it lowers the pressure concentrated on the mounting surface and helps keep the material underneath from deforming, cracking, or crushing as the joint is torqued down.

A washer also covers a slightly oversized clearance hole and gives the fastener a smooth, flat surface to rotate against during installation and removal. Over time, a washer in a load-bearing position can flatten, corrode, or raise burrs from repeated tightening, at which point it no longer spreads load evenly and should be replaced to protect the joint it backs.
