Raymond Handle Bumper – RA-1009

On a Raymond lift truck the control handle takes repeated contact through every shift, and this handle bumper cushions that contact, softening the point where the handle meets its stop or the operator's grip area. Raymond catalogs it as a chassis part, a small molded piece of about a tenth of a pound whose whole job is to absorb shock the handle would otherwise transmit.

The bumper wears as it works. It compresses under repeated impact, then hardens and splits once the material has taken enough cycles, and a split or missing bumper leaves the handle knocking directly against metal. Fitting a fresh one restores the cushioning at the handle and keeps that contact quiet and controlled. Because it is the Raymond part for the location, it seats in the original mounting position on the Raymond lift truck without adjustment.
