Carbon brushes carry current to the commutator of the hydraulic pump motor, and this kit renews them on Crown electric lift trucks, supplying replacement brushes together with the springs that hold them against the commutator. Pump motor brushes are a wear item: every lift and lower cycle draws current through them, and as they shorten, hydraulic power falls off and the motor begins to arc at the commutator.

The springs in the kit seat each brush under proper pressure so electrical contact stays consistent and the motor runs smoothly instead of chattering or sparking.
