This brush spring maintains steady contact pressure between the carbon brushes and the commutator inside a Crown electric lift truck motor. As the brushes wear down through normal use, the spring keeps them pressed firmly against the rotating commutator so current transfers cleanly to the armature, protecting drive and pump motor performance. Consistent spring tension reduces arcing, uneven brush wear, and power loss, which extends motor life and keeps the truck running at full output. Crown builds this spring to the tension and fit its motor brush assemblies require, so replacement restores proper brush pressure during a motor service. Replace the springs together with the brush set for even contact.
