Crown Battery Discharge Indicator / Hour Meter – 35-C2098

Crown combines battery discharge indication and an hour meter in this one sealed instrument, replacing what would otherwise be two separate gauges and two panel openings.

The discharge indicator gives the operator a running readout of charge state, which is what keeps a truck from being run down further than the battery chemistry tolerates before recharge. The hour meter tracks accumulated operating time, the figure maintenance schedules use to time service intervals rather than relying on calendar time, which overstates usage on a lightly worked truck and understates it on a hard-run one.

Sealed construction protects the internal electronics from the dust and moisture the rest of the control panel is exposed to.

Crown uses more than one panel and display configuration across its model range, so display style and panel cutout should be matched against the instrument being replaced. A like-for-like match keeps the swap electrical and mechanical rather than requiring a new panel cutout.
