Switching the heavy DC current in an electric lift truck's power circuit is the job of this Albright contactor, a single-pole, single-throw normally open unit that closes a 150 amp continuous load on command from a 24 volt DC coil. It handles surges well past its steady rating, carrying up to 275 amps intermittently at a 30 percent duty cycle, which covers the inrush a drive or pump motor pulls at startup. The coil pulls the contacts in within about 30 milliseconds, and the mechanism is rated beyond five million operations, the cycle life a truck's main power switching demands.

M8 stud main terminals take the high-current cabling while 6.3 millimeter spade connections feed the coil, and the contactor holds its ratings across a wide range from minus 40 to plus 60 degrees Celsius. On Crown and other 24 volt electric lift trucks it serves as the main or motor contactor, and a worn one shows itself through contacts that stick, chatter, or arc and no longer make a clean circuit. Match the 24 volt coil rating and the 150 amp contact rating when replacing it, since a contactor sized to a different coil voltage will not pull in reliably.
