The AC controller is the electronic unit that governs an alternating-current drive or pump motor on a Raymond lift truck, taking operator input and battery power and regulating the motor's speed, torque, and direction through switched output to the windings. It is the brain between the control handle and the AC motor, and its behavior sets how smoothly and efficiently the truck moves and lifts.

A failing controller shows up as erratic motor behavior, fault codes, loss of a drive or lift function, or a shutdown under load, symptoms that trace to the power electronics or logic inside. Replacing it restores correct motor control. Match the controller to the motor type, the system voltage, and the connector and mounting arrangement on the truck it serves, since AC controllers are configured to a specific drive system.
