Electric lift trucks route significant current through their controllers and drive motors, and passive airflow alone will not carry away the heat that generates. This Crown cooling fan moves air through the drive or control compartment, keeping component temperatures below the point where thermal protection cuts in.

The fan measures 5.9 by 2.01 by 6.8 inches, a compact elongated footprint sized to the mounting space Crown allocates for compartment cooling rather than a general-purpose unit adapted to fit.

Heat buildup without adequate airflow does two things: it triggers thermal cutouts that interrupt a working shift, and over time it shortens the life of the controller and motor it should be protecting.

Crown uses more than one fan configuration across its truck lineup, differing in mount pattern and possibly voltage between series, so both should be matched against the unit being replaced. A failing fan typically shows reduced airflow or unusual noise before it stops turning entirely.
