Raymond builds this steer motor to drive the electric power steering on its lift trucks, converting battery current into the assisted rotational force that turns the drive wheel in response to the operator's steering input. It is sized for the constant directional changes of narrow-aisle and warehouse work, delivering the low-effort, responsive turning an operator relies on through hundreds of course corrections a shift.

As the motor ages, its brushes wear and output falls off, and the truck grows heavier and less precise to steer, the point at which placing a load squarely in a tight aisle takes noticeably more effort. A sound replacement restores the smooth, controlled response the steering system was designed to give and goes in as a direct swap for the worn unit.

Match the mounting interface and the electrical terminal arrangement to the steer motor coming off, since these govern whether the replacement bolts up and wires in without adaptation.
