Fuse 40A – ANN-40

Rated at 40 amps, this ANN-style fuse is a fast-acting current limiter built to protect higher-current power circuits and clear a fault quickly before it can damage cabling or connected equipment. The ANN format is a compact limiter fuse used on the heavier power and battery circuits of electric equipment, where the 40 amp element carries normal working current and opens under overload or short.

Unlike a small blade fuse on a control circuit, a limiter fuse in this class sits on a main or feeder path, so its speed and rating are set to protect the wiring behind it. As a sacrificial protective device it opens to save the circuit and is then replaced.

Match the 40 amp rating and the ANN body and mounting to the fuse being replaced, since a limiter fuse wrong in rating or format will not fit the holder or protect the circuit correctly.
