18-2 Cable – SY41421

Built as 18 gauge two-conductor cable, this wire carries low-current power or signal between two points in a lift truck's electrical system through a pair of insulated conductors run together in one jacket. The 18 AWG size suits control, accessory, and signal circuits rather than the heavy traction current a battery cable carries, and the two-conductor construction keeps a supply and return, or a signal pair, routed together.

Cable insulation hardens and cracks with age, heat, and flexing, and chafed or broken conductors show up as intermittent or dead circuits downstream. Replacing the run with fresh cable of the same gauge and conductor count restores a clean path.

Match the 18 gauge, two-conductor build to the cable it replaces, since a lighter gauge will run hot on the same load.
