Reading throttle pedal position on Crown electric lift trucks, this Crown accelerator potentiometer converts pedal movement into the variable electrical signal the motor controller uses to set travel speed. As the operator presses the pedal, the potentiometer's resistance changes proportionally, giving the controller a smooth, repeatable command for both acceleration and deceleration.

The pot is a wear component. Its resistive track and wiper degrade with constant use, and a worn or erratic unit can cause hesitation, surging, or a loss of speed control, all of which make the truck unpredictable to drive. Fitting a sound potentiometer restores precise, consistent drive response from the pedal.

Match the connector and the mounting against the throttle assembly on the truck being serviced, since the pot has to plug into the existing harness and seat on the pedal linkage to read its travel correctly.
