Deadman Sensor Switch – RA1009427

Raymond's deadman sensor switch is the operator-presence interlock that keeps a lift truck from driving or lifting unless the operator is properly in position, cutting power to the drive and hydraulic functions the moment the operator steps off or releases the platform. It is a safety device first: the truck stops itself when the person meant to control it is no longer there.

The switch cycles every time the operator boards and steps off, so its contacts and sensing mechanism wear with use and eventually read intermittently, which shows up as a truck that cuts out or refuses to engage even with the operator in place. A failing deadman is replaced promptly because the interlock it provides is not optional on equipment moving under its own power. This is a Raymond component; confirm the connector and mounting match the switch being replaced.
