Cushman Solenoid – CU841208

A low-current control signal switches a high-current circuit through this solenoid on Cushman equipment, where an energized coil builds a magnetic field that pulls a set of contacts together to make the connection. Releasing the coil drops the contacts and breaks the circuit, letting a small signal command the heavy loads that feed traction, pump, or accessory circuits without routing that current through the control switches themselves.

That remote switching is the solenoid's core job, and it also isolates the high-current side when the circuit is open, so power does not sit at downstream components between operations. The contacts and coil are the wearing elements: contacts erode from the arc drawn at each make and break, and a tired coil pulls in weakly, which shows up as chatter, hesitation, or a circuit that will not energize.

A sound replacement restores clean, positive actuation. Match the coil voltage and the contact rating to the Cushman circuit it controls, since a solenoid correct in size but wrong in coil voltage will not pull in reliably.
