Foot Switch – YT722125100

The Yale foot switch is a deadman operator control for electric lift trucks and electric pallet jacks, rated 24 VDC at 5 amps. Release foot pressure and the contact opens immediately, which is the safety function the switch exists to perform: the truck cannot drive unless someone is standing at the controls.

It is an electro-mechanical, weatherproof switch built for continuous-duty service, with a molded industrial thermoplastic housing, a non-slip injection-molded polymer actuator, and a panel-mount threaded bushing that seats it into the platform floor plate. The switch is rated for 100,000 actuation cycles at its rated voltage and current, which reflects how many times a working pallet truck presses and releases it across a shift. It replaces Yale part 722125100 and carries the Hyster-Yale service number 580001460, fitting the Yale and Hyster walkie and rider trucks that use this deadman design.

As the switch ages, worn or pitted contacts begin to stick or drop the circuit intermittently, causing the truck to cut out or refuse to move under foot, which is the usual reason it gets replaced. Forklifts Etc. supplies it as a direct-fit replacement for the original operator foot switch.
