Toggle Switch – SW-430

A toggle switch opens or closes an electrical circuit by hand through a pivoting lever, giving the operator a positive on or off position for a powered function on the truck. The lever moves internal contacts that either complete or break the circuit, and the detent gives the tactile snap that confirms the switch has changed state.

Panel-mounted switches like this thread through a cutout and secure with a nut behind the panel, wiring to the circuit at terminals on the back of the body. Over a long service life the internal contacts arc, pit, and eventually fail to pass current cleanly, or the lever wears loose, which shows up as an intermittent or dead function that the switch is supposed to control. Replacing the switch restores reliable manual control of the circuit.

Match the replacement to the original by its contact arrangement, the number of poles and throws, the terminal style, and the mounting bushing size, since switches of the same appearance can differ in circuit configuration and panel cutout.
