This switch bellows, also called a boot, is a flexible protective cover built for Crown lift trucks that seals a switch mechanism from dust, moisture, and debris in the operating environment. Bellows and boots of this type are wear items by design, since they are made of a flexible material that flexes every time the switch beneath it is actuated.

Because the bellows takes on repeated flex cycles at the same fold lines, it is prone to cracking, splitting, or losing its seal over time, especially in the areas that bend most with each actuation.
