Crown Seat Switch – 85-342S

This seat switch is an operator presence switch built for Crown lift trucks, sold individually and weighing 5 pounds. Operator presence switches are a core safety component on a forklift, detecting whether the operator is seated and, depending on the truck's control logic, enabling or disabling drive, lift, and other functions accordingly.

Because this switch cycles every time an operator sits down or stands up throughout a shift, it accumulates a high number of actuation cycles over its service life. Internal contacts or the switch mechanism can wear, and the sensing element can become less reliable, leading to symptoms like a truck that cuts power intermittently while the operator is still seated, or one that fails to disable functions when the seat is empty.
