Carbon Brush Set for Crown Motor – RA570-252/517

This carbon brush set is built for Crown electric motors, sold as a set of four brushes that conduct current to the motor's rotating commutator. Carbon brushes ride against the commutator under spring pressure, maintaining the electrical connection that lets current flow into the rotating armature as the motor spins.

Because the brushes are in constant sliding contact with the commutator, they are a designed wear item, gradually shortening as the carbon material wears away with use. As a brush wears down, spring pressure and contact area both decrease, and the motor can start to show intermittent power, arcing, or sparking at the commutator as the connection becomes less consistent. Left unreplaced, worn brushes can also accelerate wear on the commutator itself, turning a simple brush change into a more involved repair.
