24V Contactor – CT5008-24

A 24 volt DC contactor like this one acts as the heavy-duty switch inside a lift truck's power circuit, closing under a control signal to send battery current to a motor or accessory circuit that draws too much current for a standard relay to handle safely. It fits Yale equipment, engaging and disengaging power on command from the truck's control system.

Contactors absorb the punishment of repeated switching under load. Every engagement draws an arc across the internal contacts as the circuit closes, and that arcing gradually erodes the contact surfaces, eventually leading to pitting, sticking, or a contactor that fails to make a clean connection. A contactor stuck closed can leave a circuit powered when it should not be, while one that will not close leaves the truck without the function it controls.

Sized for 24 volt systems and measuring 4.08 by 2.1 by 3.1 inches, this contactor weighs 2.1 pounds. Replacing a worn unit restores clean, reliable switching to the power circuit it serves, whether that circuit runs the drive motor, pump motor, or another high-current accessory on the truck.
