Built into the Nikki LPG fuel system used on UniCarriers propane-powered lift trucks, this sensor feeds the engine management system the reading it needs to keep fuel delivery accurate. An LPG fuel system relies on a chain of components, the vaporizer, lockoff solenoid, regulator, and mixer, to turn liquid propane into a vapor the engine can burn, and a sensor in that circuit gives the controller the input it uses to manage the process correctly.
Because propane combustion is sensitive to fuel delivery accuracy, a sensor whose reading drifts or fails outright shows up as rough idle, hesitation under load, poor fuel economy, or a fault code from the engine controller, even when the rest of the LPG system is working normally. Replacing the sensor restores the accurate input the controller needs to hold the correct air-fuel mixture.
Measuring 3 by 1.5 by 1.5 inches and weighing a quarter pound, it is a compact component that mounts directly into the LPG fuel circuit and is built for the Nikki fuel system architecture rather than as a universal sensor.
