Hydraulic valve for Raymond lift trucks, controlling the flow or pressure of oil in the lift or steering circuit. A worn or stuck valve causes drift, slow or weak function, or lost pressure; it is replaced or rebuilt to restore correct hydraulic control.
Regulating system pressure in the hydraulic circuit of a Raymond lift truck is the job of this pressure valve, holding the setpoint that keeps lifting, lowering, and tilt functions operating within their intended limits. In that role it also protects the pump and cylinders from overpressure, relieving or capping pressure before it climbs high enough to damage the components downstream.
A pressure valve wears at its seat and spring, and as it does it can stick, drift off its setting, or fail to seal, which shows up as hydraulic functions that become erratic, weak, or lose their pressure setting. Fitting the correct replacement restores controlled, repeatable operation of the lift functions and returns the circuit to its designed pressure.
As a genuine Raymond part, it replaces the original valve in its mounting position; match the port arrangement and pressure rating to the valve being replaced, since a valve set to a different pressure will not hold the circuit where the system expects it.
