Cushioning a component against the chassis on a Toyota forklift, this Toyota rubber mount is a bonded rubber isolator that absorbs the vibration and shock the machine generates as it works. The rubber flexes to isolate the mounted component from the frame while still locating it, so it damps movement without letting the part float free.

A rubber mount is a wear item. The rubber hardens, cracks, and eventually separates from its metal as it ages and takes heat, oil, and constant flexing, and a failed mount lets the component shake, shift, or transmit vibration straight into the chassis. Replacing it restores the cushioned, located mounting the part was designed to have.

Match the mount by its overall size, the stud or bore arrangement, and its mounting hole pattern against the mount being replaced, since these determine whether it seats in the same space and carries the component the same way.
