Battery Connector 175 Amp – AN-229

Rated to carry 175 amps, this battery connector joins the battery to the truck or to a charger through a pair of heavy copper contacts held in a keyed insulating shell. The 175 amp rating sets how much current the connector can pass without overheating, which is what matches it to the draw of a mid-size electric lift truck rather than a light-duty or heavy-duty pack.

The genderless housing lets two identical halves mate, and a keying scheme keeps a connector from being joined to one of a different current rating, so a 175 amp half pairs only with its match. Inside, the contacts are the wear point: repeated connect and disconnect cycles and high-current arcing pit and darken the copper over time, raising resistance and heat until the connector runs warm and the contacts need replacing.

Match the 175 amp housing and the contact size to the mating connector already on the equipment, since connectors of a different amperage will not intermate.
