Right Hand Cylinder – CR-470

Mounted on the right-hand side of the lift assembly on a Crown lift truck, this hydraulic cylinder converts pump pressure into the linear force that raises and lowers the load, its rod extending and retracting as fluid is fed to and released from the bore. It is the right-hand member of a paired set, matched to the left-hand cylinder on the opposite side so the two lift the carriage evenly.

A hydraulic cylinder wears at its seals and its rod. The rod seal and wiper eventually let fluid weep past or draw grit in, the piston seal lets pressure bypass so the cylinder drifts down under load, and a scored or pitted rod chews through new seals. A cylinder that no longer holds position or leaks at the rod is due for replacement or reseal.

Because this is the right-hand unit, confirm you are fitting it to the right-hand position and matching the bore, stroke, and rod-end and port arrangement to the cylinder coming off, since the two sides are handed and are not interchangeable.
