A front link carries load and motion through the lower lift mechanism of UniCarriers Barrett electric pallet trucks, tying the linkage together so the forks raise and lower on a controlled path. UniCarriers manufactures it as a load-bearing member of that linkage, pivoting on the pins that run through its mounting holes.

Because the link pivots under load through every lift cycle, its pin bores are where it wears. As the bores elongate and the pins loosen, the linkage develops play and the lift action grows sloppy, which is the point at which the link is replaced to bring the mechanism back to its designed geometry. It is a steel link built to take the full lift load without flexing.
