Bushing Htx – BS-1478

Lining a bore to give a shaft, pin, or pivot a low-friction bearing surface, this bushing takes the wear that would otherwise fall on the more expensive parts it sits between. As a sacrificial wear component it is meant to be replaced periodically, and a worn one shows up as play, knocking, or slop at the joint it supports as the clearance opens up. Pressing in a fresh bushing restores the tight running fit and protects the housing and shaft from wearing directly on each other. Match the bushing's inside diameter, outside diameter, and length to the one being pressed out, since a bushing is sized closely to both its bore and the shaft it carries and a wrong fit will either seize or run loose.
