Cascade Sideshifter Wear Plate 208350 – CE-1028

A wear plate is the sacrificial steel surface that takes the rubbing load between a Cascade sideshifter's moving frame and the carriage, and part 208350 is that replaceable plate, positioned so it, rather than the structural frame, absorbs the wear of constant lateral travel. Its elongated shape, running about seven and a half inches on its long edge, backs the sliding interface where the attachment moves across the carriage.

In service the plate bears against the carriage bar as the sideshifter cycles under load, and it slowly wears down until the moving frame starts to develop play and no longer tracks squarely. Renewing the wear plate restores the original running clearance and keeps the far costlier frame and carriage from grinding on each other, which is the whole reason a sacrificial plate is fitted in the first place.

Cascade cuts these plates to specific thicknesses for specific attachment pockets, so match the plate to the seat and thickness of the one it replaces on the sideshifter, since a plate that stands proud binds the travel and one too thin leaves the frame loose. Fitted correctly, part 208350 returns the Cascade sideshifter, including units on Crown lift trucks, to tight, square side-to-side motion.
