Cascade Sideshifter Wear Strip 671423 – CE-1019

Cascade fits a replaceable wear strip between the fork carriage and the upper hook bar of a sideshifter so that a low-cost strip, not the machined structure, absorbs the constant sliding friction, and part 671423 is that strip. It rides at the interface where the attachment shifts across the carriage, giving the frame a smooth, low-friction surface to travel on.

As the sideshifter moves side to side through its duty cycle, the strip wears steadily thinner until the attachment starts to develop play against the carriage and tracks loosely. Replacing the strip at that point restores the designed clearance and smooth travel, and it protects the frame and carriage bars from the metal-to-metal contact that follows once the sacrificial surface is gone. At a quarter pound, it is an inexpensive service part that keeps a much more expensive attachment running true.

Because Cascade cuts these strips to specific lengths and thicknesses for specific frames, match the replacement to the length and thickness of the strip coming off the sideshifter, since a strip cut short leaves a gap and one too thick binds the shift. Fitted to the correct size, part 671423 returns the Cascade sideshifter, including units on Crown lift trucks, to tight lateral travel.
