Lower Hook – CA675968

The lower hook engages the bottom bar of the fork carriage and carries the downward load path of a sideshifter or similar carriage-mounted attachment into the truck, and this replacement serves that role on Crown lift trucks. At about two pounds of machined steel, it is a structural mounting component, not a light bracket, sized to take the pull of a loaded attachment.

Mounted at the base of the attachment, the hook locates the frame on the carriage and holds it against the load as the attachment lifts, tilts, and shifts. Hooks in this position wear oval and spread over years of load cycling, and once they do the attachment begins to rock, clunk, or sit loose on the carriage, which is the usual reason a lower hook is replaced.

Because carriage bars follow specific ITA class dimensions, match this lower hook to the carriage class and bar thickness on the truck, since a hook cut for one class will not seat squarely on another. Fitted to the correct class, it restores a tight, square lower mount between the attachment and the carriage.
