Loctite threadlocking adhesive cures in the threads of a fastener to lock it against the vibration that would otherwise back it out, and Raymond specifies this adhesive for assembly points that must stay tight under continuous working vibration. Applied to clean threads before assembly, it fills the gaps between the threads and hardens so the fastener holds its clamp load instead of loosening in service.

It is used on threaded joints during assembly or reassembly, not as a repair to a fastener already in place. Follow the grade's intended strength for the joint, since threadlockers range from removable to permanent and the wrong grade either lets go under vibration or will not release later for service.
