Crown Steering Stop CR089509 – CR-394

Bolted into the steering assembly of a Crown lift truck, this steering stop sets the mechanical limit of steering travel, halting the linkage at its designed end point so the wheels cannot turn past their intended arc. By taking the impact at full lock, it protects the steer axle, tie rods, and steering gear from the shock and over-travel that would otherwise batter those parts at the end of each turn.

A steering stop takes repeated hard contact every time the operator turns to full lock, so its contact face can wear, deform, or loosen over years of service, which lets steering travel creep past its limit and puts added strain on the linkage. Replacing a worn stop restores the correct end-of-travel position and keeps the steering geometry within its designed range.

At about 0.1 pounds it is a small part with a protective job, installed as a direct replacement for the original Crown stop. Match the mounting hole pattern and stop height to the original, since those set where steering travel actually ends.
