The squeegee is a scheduled wear item. Its edge rounds, nicks, and hardens with use, and once it stops sealing to the floor the machine leaves streaks and standing water behind it. Flipping or replacing the blade at that point restores full water pickup.
Match the squeegee length, thickness, and mounting slot to the blade being replaced, since squeegee blades are cut to a specific machine's deck and mounting.
