This axle is a load-bearing shaft for Raymond electric lift trucks, carrying a wheel or roller and providing the fixed centerline it rotates around. Machined as a Raymond replacement, it restores proper alignment and support when the original axle is worn, bent, or damaged.
Carrying a wheel or roller on a fixed centerline, this machined steel axle gives that wheel the shaft it rotates around and the support it needs to run true on a lift truck. An axle in this role has to hold alignment under the full weight the wheel carries, so it is turned to size and finished at its bearing and mounting surfaces to keep runout low.
An axle is replaced when it is worn at the bearing seats, bent from impact or overload, or scored where a bearing spun on it, any of which lets the wheel run out of true and accelerates wear on everything around it.
Because an axle is cut to a specific length and diameter for its position, match the shaft diameter, the overall length, and the mounting or retention style to the axle coming out, since a wheel will not seat or align on a shaft of the wrong size.
