Machined to Crown dimensions, this axle serves in the running gear and lift linkage of Crown electric lift trucks as the support and pivot point for a rotating or articulating member. It carries the working load through that joint into the chassis and keeps the mating parts aligned as the mechanism moves through its travel and lift cycles.

Over time the original axle wears at its bearing surfaces, and the play that develops lets the joint knock, bind, or track off true, which in turn accelerates wear in the adjacent bushings and bearings. A fresh axle restores the tight running clearance the joint was built to, returning precise motion and taking the added stress off the surrounding parts.
