Lift chain carries the full weight of the load and carriage every time the mast raises, and this roller chain comes as a 15 foot boxed length ready to be cut and fitted to a forklift upright. Running over the mast sheave, it links the hydraulic lift cylinder to the carriage, translating cylinder stroke into carriage travel through the mast channels. A boxed length lets a shop cut the exact run a repair needs rather than working around a fixed pre-made assembly.

Chain in this duty stretches over its service life as the pins and plate bores wear, which is why a lift chain is replaced as a full length once elongation passes the wear limit rather than patched link by link. A worn chain rides high on the sheave and carries reduced strength, so replacing it on schedule protects the whole load path. Match the chain pitch and plate configuration to the chain coming off the truck, since roller and leaf chains of different pitch look nearly identical yet will not track correctly on the wrong sheave.
