Sold by the bulk length, this roller chain runs in the mast and upright system of a lift truck, where it works under constant tension and repeated articulation over its sprocket as the equipment lifts and lowers. Roller chain wears steadily across a duty cycle: the pins, bushings, and rollers loosen and the chain elongates, until it rides higher on the sprocket teeth and loses the smooth engagement that keeps lifting predictable. A chain that has stretched past its wear limit is the usual signal it is time to replace the run.

Because it comes in bulk, the chain is cut to the length the application needs rather than supplied as a fixed assembly. Match the chain pitch and roller dimensions to the existing chain on the equipment before cutting a replacement length, since chains of different pitch look nearly identical but will not seat correctly on the same sprocket.
