Supplied as a 4 foot section weighing about 13 pounds, this roller chain does the load-carrying work inside the mast or upright of Raymond lift trucks, running over the mast sheaves so the carriage and its load rise and fall as the mast extends and retracts. Leaf-style lift chain of this kind is the tension member that actually holds the load in the air, which makes its condition a direct safety and reliability concern.

Lift chain stretches and wears with every cycle as the pins and plates elongate under load. A chain that has stretched past its wear limit rides differently over the sheaves, loses its safety margin, and is replaced rather than run, since a failed lift chain drops the load.

Cut to length and fitted to the upright, this section replaces worn or elongated chain in the mast. Match the chain pitch and plate configuration to the chain coming off the truck, since chains of different pitch look similar but will not run correctly over the existing sheaves.
