Thombert molds this press-on tire from Dyalon A, its polyurethane load compound, in a 13.5 inch outside diameter with a 6 inch tread width and a 10.5 inch inside mounting diameter. Dyalon A gives the tread high load capacity and strong resistance to cutting and chunking under the repeated cornering of an electric lift truck, so it wears down evenly instead of tearing at the edges. The tread is bonded to a steel band that presses onto the wheel under a hydraulic interference fit, and the tire is supplied as the press-on tire itself rather than a complete tire-and-hub unit.
