Thombert manufactures this press-on forklift tire in a 10.5 inch outside diameter with a 5 inch tread width and a 6.5 inch inside mounting diameter, a polyurethane tread bonded to a steel band that presses onto the wheel under a hydraulic interference fit. The 6.5 inch mounting diameter is the dimension that governs the fit, since a press-on tire seats only when its inside diameter matches the wheel band it drives onto. Polyurethane gives the tire the load capacity and cut resistance an electric lift truck needs on a hard warehouse floor, wearing evenly rather than chunking the way a softer compound can under repeated cornering.
