Loctite Adhesive – RASY9814

LOCTITE EA 9814 AERO is an intermediate density, fire retardant, one-component epoxy syntactic designed for honeycomb composite parts requiring high compressive strength up to 350°F (177°C).

This one-component epoxy syntactic is designed for applications requiring performance in demanding thermal environments. It features an intermediate density, is fire retardant, and comes pre-weighed in disposable plastic cartridges for convenient use. The dual cure system helps maintain no cell wall separation or cracking due to thermal stresses, complemented by excellent fluid resistance.

This off-white adhesive exhibits a cured density of 0.75 g/cc. It offers a work life of at least 8 hours at 77°F (25°C) after freezer thaw, with a shelf life of 12 months when stored at or below -20°F (-29°C). The recommended cure schedule involves heating from room temperature at 3°F (2°C) per minute to either 260°F (127°C) for 90 minutes or 350°F (177°C) for 60 minutes, followed by a controlled cool down. Tensile Lap Shear Strength (ASTM D1002) is 1,882 lbs/in² (13.0 MPa) after 90 minutes at 260°F (127°C) and 1,748 lbs/in² (12.1 MPa) after 60 minutes at 350°F (177°C), both measured at 77°F (25°C). Compression Strength (ASTM D695) is 15,219 lbs/in² (104.9 MPa) after 90 minutes at 260°F (127°C) and 15,365 lbs/in² (105.9 MPa) after 60 minutes at 350°F (177°C), both measured at 77°F (25°C).
