The outer race of a tapered roller bearing, this hardened cup is the ring the tapered rollers ride against as the bearing carries both radial and thrust load, exactly the combined load a lift truck load wheel sees as it turns under weight. A spalled or grooved cup roughens the wheel and eventually seizes it, so it is replaced together with its matching cone and rollers.

In a lift truck load wheel, that combined load is exactly what the wheel bearing sees as the truck turns and carries weight, so a cup that has spalled or worn a groove into its race surface is what roughens a wheel and eventually seizes it.
A cup is replaced together with its matching cone and rollers, never mixed with a worn mate, because the two surfaces wear in as a set. Match the cup's outside diameter to the load wheel bore it presses into and pair it with the correct cone, since a cup that does not seat fully will not run true under load.
